About the role

GlobalX Air is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations for our Airbus A319/A320/A321 fleet within a fast-paced, high-tempo Part 121 charter and scheduled-service operating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, assign, and supervise daily line and base maintenance activities for the A319/A320/A321 fleet, ensuring compliance with the approved maintenance program, MEL/CDL procedures, and AD/SB compliance schedules.
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for Maintenance Control on aircraft-on-ground (AOG) events, driving root-cause troubleshooting and return-to-service decisions to minimize schedule disruption.
  • Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate maintenance teams; manage shift coverage across a 24/7 operation and coordinate contract/vendor labor as needed.
  • Review and approve maintenance records, logbook entries, and non-routine discrepancies for accuracy, traceability, and compliance prior to aircraft release to service.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and the Director of Maintenance to address audit findings, internal/external inspection results, and corrective action plans, including FAA and customer audits.
  • Cooker parts, tooling, and GSE availability with Materials/Supply Chain to prevent maintenance delays and AOG exposure.
  • Enforce GOM, CAMP, and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) procedures, and hold staff accountable to “do-it-right-the-first-time” standards and departmental expectations.
  • Support training, qualification, and OJT sign-off for maintenance personnel in accordance with the approved training program.
  • Investigate maintenance errors, human factors events, and repeat discrepancies; document findings and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance and regulatory matters as required by operational tempo.
  • Support lease-return and delivery-condition inspections, STC/Form 337 documentation review, and cabin configuration compliance as fleet needs require.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required; current and in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of Part 121/145 air carrier maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a lead, supervisory, or management capacity.
  • Direct hands-on and supervisory experience with Airbus A319/A320/A321-family aircraft, including line, base, and non-routine maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 5, 43, 91, 117, 119, and 121, and demonstrated experience operating within an approved CAMP/GMM.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high-tempo, schedule-driven charter or scheduled-service environment.
  • Strong record-keeping discipline and experience with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., CAMP, TRAX, CORRIDOR, or equivalent MRO/MIS software).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical write-ups, discrepancy reports, and shift turnover documentation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport-issued security badging (SIDA) and pass required background checks.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and be available for on-call/AOG response.

Qualifications

  • Prior Director of Maintenance (DOM), Assistant DOM, or Chief Inspector experience under 14 CFR119.67(c) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Airbus ETOPS-supported operations and associated maintenance program requirements.
  • Experience managing lease-return, delivery, or induction inspections, including STC compliance review and Form 337 traceability.
  • Prior experience with FAA POI/PMI relationships and direct participation in FAA audits or inspections.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management, Aviation Technology, or a related field.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to work on an active flight line, in hangar environments, and around operating aircraft and ground support equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stands, work at heights, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to noise, weather, fuel, and chemical/solvent environments typical of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call response consistent with a 24/7 airline operation.

Benefits

A fast-growing charter and scheduled-service carrier with a modern Airbus and Boeing fleet.
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, plus benefits package.
A performance-driven culture that rewards accountability, technical excellence, and direct, no-hedging communication.
Clear path for growth into senior maintenance leadership roles, including Director of Maintenance track.
