About the Role

This position supports fabrication of in-house airframe components manufactured at the Spanish Fork, Utah facility with a focus on design for manufacturability (DFM) initiatives. The role operates under general supervision, resolving a wide range of engineering problems and coordinating segments of specific projects. The Airframe Liaison Engineer will have frequent inter-organization and customer contact on technical issues, provide direction to design or technical staff, and may mentor less experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and briefs Change Requests/Change Notices (CR/CN) in front of the Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholders.
  • Provides depositions for nonconforming production parts as the Material Review Board (MRB) engineer.
  • Coordinates with engineering groups such as Airframe Integrity Group, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering to resolve complex issues.
  • Identifies root causes of engineering/manufacturing issues and works independently to resolve them.
  • Works closely with the production floor to clarify engineering drawing intent.
  • Supports the production floor in a fast-paced prototype environment, providing technical instructions through engineering redlines.
  • Provides documentation and delivers technical presentations as required.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations in company operations.
  • Works safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This is an on-site position based in Spanish Fork, UT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, with progressive engineering experience:
    • Four or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or
    • Two or more years of experience with a master’s degree.
  • Equivalent engineering experience may substitute for education.
  • Background in Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, or Structural Engineering is desired.
  • Experience and knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings, with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integration.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing methodologies is desired.
  • Experience working with RTM and SQRTM parts is desired.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y-14.5M).
  • Experience using CREO Parametric, NX, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is desired.

Pay

Salary range: $73,650 – $128,663.
