About the role

This non-union apprentice role is an entry-level helper position focused on learning aviation standards, tooling, documentation, and shop procedures. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data, including manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and FAA-approved standards.

This position works on-site and must be within commute distance to the work location.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and teardown of aviation components
  • Parts identification
  • Learning IPC/CMM usage
  • Learning FAA and repair shop paperwork flow
  • Basic disassembly and assembly under supervision
  • Attending daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
  • Working in a safe, responsible manner to avoid injury to oneself or others

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance (required)
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license (desired)
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions in a repair station setting
  • Familiarity with common hand tools
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to participate in a DOT-approved drug-testing program (required under FAA Part 121 regulations)
