About the Role

Performs repair and overhaul work for the component wheel/brake shop at 4049 SW 30th Ave, Hollywood, FL 33312.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and overhauls components and accessories in accordance with FAA and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) repair procedures and policies, ensuring conformance to prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Carries out diagnostic, repair, and overhaul tasks alongside technicians and specialists, following approved procedures.
  • Personally performs or assists specialists in technically complex repairs.
  • Follows appropriate manual references and utilizes proper tools for wheel, landing gear, and brake repairs.
  • Adheres to production schedule; collaborates with the shop Lead and Production Maintenance Supervisor to address behind-schedule conditions.
  • Completes work orders and repair orders, ensuring all documentation and FAA-required maintenance records and technical data are maintained.
  • Monitors and tracks parts shortages; supports ordering materials to alleviate shortages.
  • Briefs Lead or Production Maintenance Supervisor on repairs for quotations.
  • Creates purchase requisitions for parts and tooling required.
  • Communicates tooling requirements to Lead or Production Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Engages in communications via email, telephone, and in-person as needed.
  • Works with Lead to schedule third-party vendor tasks or services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with tools such as MS Office, Internet, Component Control, and Lotus Notes.
  • 2-4 years of experience with wheel, brake, or landing gear repair/overhaul.
  • FAA repair station or component shop experience.

Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and abilities.
  • Experience with shop equipment, hand tools (pneumatic & manual), and blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hydraulic/mechanical systems.
  • Component Maintenance Manual knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, accountability, integrity, and teamwork.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work safely and professionally while adhering to OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 without restrictions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts if required.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
