About the role

We are hiring a Systems Verification Lead to support production of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft. The Systems Verification Lead is the technical authority for hardware verification strategy and execution across the full product lifecycle — from design verification testing (DVT) through environmental qualification, production acceptance, and ground & flight test. This role is accountable for demonstrating that all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics (TPMs) before fielding, and for ensuring that verification activities are planned, executed, and documented in accordance with the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). This hire will work across disciplines (structures, avionics, propulsion, thermal, EE), directly interfacing with suppliers, test labs, integration teams, configuration management, manufacturing, and the customer, and will be responsible for driving verification maturity from development through manufacturing readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead hardware verification strategy across the full product lifecycle (DVT, environmental qualification, production acceptance, ground & flight test).
  • Ensure hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics (TPMs) before fielding.
  • Plan, execute, and document verification activities in alignment with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary test campaigns (environmental, functional, integration, flight test).
  • Interface with suppliers, test labs, integration teams, configuration management, manufacturing, and customers.
  • Drive verification maturity from development through manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop and track technical performance metrics for verification programs.
  • Plan and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
  • Apply configuration management processes (FCA/PCA, as-built records, ECP effectivity) to test article control.
  • Develop acceptance test plans and procedures for transition from qualification to production.
  • Evaluate supplier qualification data and conduct gap analyses or similarity assessments for COTS/MOTS hardware.
  • Use requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS, Polarion) for verification tracking.
  • Present verification status, TPMs, and TRR packages to program leadership and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, verification & validation, or test engineering in aerospace or defense.
  • 3+ years leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary test campaigns (environmental, functional, integration, or flight test).
  • Experience with SEMP development or execution, including verification planning aligned to technical review gates.
  • Experience defining and tracking technical performance metrics for verification programs.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and leading Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management processes (FCA/PCA, as-built records, ECP effectivity) as they apply to test article control.
  • Experience developing acceptance test plans and procedures for transition from qualification to production.
  • Strong working knowledge of military environmental test standards: MIL-STD-810 (climatic/dynamic), MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-464 (E3), and MIL-STD-704 (aircraft power).
  • Experience evaluating supplier qualification data and conducting gap analyses or similarity assessments for COTS/MOTS hardware.
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS, Polarion).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present verification status, TPMs, and TRR packages to program leadership and customers.
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years in hardware V&V with increasing scope and responsibility.
  • INCOSE CSEP or ASEP certification.
  • Experience supporting ground test and flight test campaigns for air vehicles or UAS platforms.
  • Familiarity with DO-160 and cross-referencing commercial test evidence against military standards.
  • Experience with airworthiness qualification processes and safety-of-flight verification.
  • Experience with MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) assessments and MRR participation.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., Foundry, Confluence) for verification tracking and reporting.
  • Prior experience on tactical UAS, fighter, or similar defense aircraft programs.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
