Sabre Systems is recruiting for a Journeyman Air Vehicles Engineer to support the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This program provides critical current and future capabilities in the form of total life cycle support management (cradle to grave) for the F/A-18A-D Hornet, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler weapons systems. PMA-265 is responsible for acquiring, delivering, and sustaining these aircraft, ensuring mission success for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aviators, as well as international partners. Active Secret clearance required. This is a hybrid position with primarily 3 days/week on-site and 2 days/week telework.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Air Vehicle engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate F/A-18 systems and subsystems.
  • Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Apply systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.
  • Communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders and resolve competing test resource requirements.
  • Proactively learn new systems under test, meet program requirements, and take responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, and executing necessary tasks.
  • Work as part of an integrated team.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Requirements

  • Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in Air Vehicle Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of engineering expertise.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in technical writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in DoD weapons acquisition process.
  • Experience in aeromechanics and aircraft subsystems.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $130,500.00 - $144,900.00, based on individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
