About the role
BGE, Inc. is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm offering diverse career opportunities in a wide range of disciplines for public and private infrastructure projects. This role partners with the BGE Air Quality team to support air permit applications, regulatory compliance, and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Prepare air permit applications, including permitting strategy, project description, BACT, and regulatory analyses, while ensuring the application and resultant permit meet client needs.
- Review environmental reports, permits, applications, and related materials to provide regulatory compliance guidance and strategies to clients.
- Communicate scientific and technical information to project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies through written reports and presentations.
- Assist clients with agency coordination, permit acquisition, and compliance.
- Manage time efficiently to support multiple projects.
- Partner with BGE staff to maintain and develop client relationships.
- Engage with project teams across simultaneous assignments.
Requirements
- B.S./M.S. degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related science field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on air quality permitting and compliance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of EPA/TCEQ air regulations; experience with other state and local agencies is a plus.
- Understanding of refining, chemical, and other industrial process operations.
- Experience with PBRs, Title V, and emissions calculations.
- Active participation in local and regional trade associations.
- Ability to engage with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Experience with client relationship building and articulating regulatory requirements.
- Effective time-management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude to adapt environmental concepts, permit terms, and regulations across multiple industries and geographies.
- Professional presence, solid decision-making skills, and ability to work effectively in team situations.
- Proficient with MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel).
