Air Quality Analyst

The Hernandez Aerobiology & Disinfection Laboratory is implementing the project Characterization and Control of Indoor Air Pollution and Heat Stress in the Adams 14 School District. This project seeks to distribute portable air cleaners to all district classrooms and assess levels and characterize VOCs in the classroom. The group seeks a part-time analyst to compile and analyze outdoor temporal air quality data and create a report on the pilot test of remote monitoring equipment for portable air cleaner operational status.

About the role

This position will help understand how Suncor exceedance days are detected across the district using various in-house and third-party monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Overlay time-series graphs of pollution episodes with data from:
  • Suncor
  • Adams 14 School District (A14SD) Attune Outdoor Monitors
  • Onterris CCND Air Monitoring Program
  • CDPHE mobile air quality lab
  to examine how exceedance days impact outdoor air quality across the district and create a timeline of high pollution days based on these four outdoor data sources.
• If time permits, include data from Suncor's fenceline monitoring system.
• Create a final report summarizing the HEPA remote monitoring pilot study in A14SD.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in engineering.
• Previous experience working on Colorado school air quality monitoring projects and collecting and analyzing air quality data.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills.

Pay

$28.00 per hour.
