About the role

The Air Mobility Exercise Planner will support the Air Mobility Command (AMC) Directorate of Operations Staff at Scott AFB, Illinois. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate ideas across a range of organizations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and participate in exercise development, execution, and assessment for joint mobility forces.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate exercise documents, briefings, and materials
  • Attend and coordinate exercise planning conferences and events
  • Coordinate and schedule Command and Control (C2) Exercise Systems requirements
  • Coordinate Base Operating Support Infrastructure (BOSI) requirements and develop beddown plans for AMC assets participating in exercises
  • Provide exercise overview and preparation briefings and materials for participating forces and provide Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) oversight
  • Participate in the execution of exercises, including manning the AMC Exercise Control Group (ECG) and AMC Exercise Response Cell to control exercise events and responses
  • Prepare responses for after-action reports and participate in the lessons-learned reporting process
  • Support development of an exercise assessment plan when required
  • Provide exercise funding document support
  • Provide administrative support to Joint Training Information Management System

Requirements

  • Top secret security clearance and eligibility for SCI
  • At least 10 years of air mobility operations experience
  • At least 3 years of exercise development, planning, and execution experience
  • Experience with leading teams for base operating support (BOS) and site survey coordination
  • Experience in organizing and leading (as well as participating in) operational planning teams, working groups, and conferences
  • Self-motivated and innovative problem-solver
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience working closely with joint services and allies and partners on logistical and sustainment requirements for exercises or real-world operations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in developing and analyzing Time Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) for oversight management
  • Air Mobility Aircrew or Logistics Readiness / Contingency and Wartime Planner experience
  • USAF Weapons School (USAFWS) Graduate
  • Combat Aircrew Tactics Studies (CATS)/Mobility Electronic Combat Officer Course (MECOC) graduate
  • Mobility Data Link Managers Course graduate
  • Headquarters AMC staff experience
  • 618th Air Operations Center or Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC) staff experience
  • Joint training and exercises staff experience
