Air Interdiction Agent
About the role
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking skilled pilots for the Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) position. This role involves aviation-based law enforcement operations, including detecting, preventing, interdicting, and apprehending terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States.
Responsibilities
- Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
- Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.
- Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence.
- Supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
Requirements
Pilots must have a current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with the appropriate ratings and flight hours. They must also have a valid FAA Class 2 medical certificate within the last 12 months. The position requires a minimum of 1500 flight hours, with up to 500 hours waived, and specific flight hours in areas like Pilot-in-Command, Instrument, and Night flying.
Qualifications
- Certification & Ratings: Current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with dual-rated (Airplane and Rotorcraft Helicopter) or single-rated (Airplane).
- Flight Hours: At least 1500 flight hours, with up to 500 hours waived, and specific flight hours in Pilot-in-Command, Instrument, and Night flying.
- Medical: FAA Class 2 medical certificate within the last 12 months.

Pay

Duty locations are based on operational requirements and mission needs. The schedule is flexible and may require working at any duty location within the selected region.
