About the Role

We are looking for an Air Freight Product Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics. In this role, you will support global business by managing Air procurement in the assigned geography. You will act as the counterpart to the Country/Regional Head of Airfreight for implementing new policies and projects, ensuring adherence to core carrier usage, and fulfilling BSA and other policy-related airfreight product requirements.

The Air Product Supervisor provides guidance on tender management for pricing based on local market conditions within the assigned geography. You will maintain relationships with local Airfreight vendors (airlines, local handlers) and meet frequently with key contacts. You will participate in monthly meetings to update the Air Product Organization on new products, market trends, or events, join local sales calls, and discuss new business opportunities. You will actively support sales with air product knowledge and organize internal workshops to update operations and sales about new air products. Additionally, you will work closely with operations for procurement and improvement on regular business, services, and rates to increase the gross margin for the assigned geography.

Responsibilities

  • Support Noatum Logistics’ sales and operations organizations through effective communication and customer service in providing competitive rates/costs and securing business.
  • Utilize knowledge of TSA carrier regulations for airfreight in selecting carriers appropriate for transport (Air Specialist, only).
  • Utilize both global operating system (CargoWise) and rate management software tools (Web Cargo) to build rates.
  • Responsible for Airfreight RFQ support by securing and compiling rates where needed.
  • Support Pricing & Air Product teams with air freight contract and carrier management.
  • Gather statistical data pertaining to additional sales/up-selling opportunities, re-quotes, and customer behavior information.
  • Provide pricing team feedback and data regarding competitive pricing and methodologies based on customer interactions.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of global service offerings to educate/engage the customer as their transportation needs require.
  • Participate as an effective team member with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations.
  • Comply with all necessary procedures to assure a clean, properly organized, safe, and healthy environment for all personnel.

Requirements

  • Two years of college or equivalent combination of education and freight transportation experience.
  • 4-5 years of transportation company (steamship line or airline) experience, preferably in rating or pricing.
  • Competent math skills using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret transportation air tariffs (Air Specialist, only).
  • Knowledgeable in TSA carrier regulations and is a TSA-approved user.
  • Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CargoWise, Cargosphere, and WebCargo.
  • College degree in business, transportation, or logistics.
  • 7+ years of related industry experience.
  • Freight pricing/procurement experience.
  • Established knowledge of carrier contracts and transpacific service options.

Physical Requirements

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting while working at a computer and occasional fast-paced operations and events.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and co-workers. Regular use of the telephone, virtual meetings, and e-mail for communication. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, and copiers.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, use hands to grasp or feel, and operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad.
