AIT Worldwide Logistics is a global freight forwarder that helps companies grow by expanding access to markets worldwide. As an Air Export Agent II, you will coordinate day-to-day export operations for international freight forwarding shipments, ensuring high-level operational excellence and world-class customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and validate customer orders, including Cargowise Org, credit, export POA, restricted commodities, cargo value, embargoes/sanctions, additional services, documentation requirements, and Incoterms.
  • Identify the best routing/transit option per customer request or standard operating procedure (SOP).
  • Anticipate and secure quotations from vendors for all potential order costs.
  • Issue customer or overseas office/agent quotations and confirm acceptance.
  • Perform TSA Known Shipper Check and secure bookings from airlines.
  • Dispatch inland carriage with subcontractors if applicable.
  • Accrue all costs in CargoWise and perform initial profitability checks.
  • Issue customer booking confirmations and confirm timely delivery/receipt of cargo.
  • Receive and validate customer documents and ensure receipt of AES data elements in writing from USPPI (if applicable).
  • File AES according to USPPI instructions (if applicable) and receive/validate master air waybills.
  • Track and confirm flight departures, updating system milestones as needed.
  • Issue AIT House air waybills according to customer and destination requirements.
  • Upload all documents to edocs in CargoWise and send pre-alerts to overseas offices/agents.
  • Confirm final costs, ensuring all are accrued, and complete final profitability checks.
  • Issue invoices to customers or overseas offices as required and distribute documents per shipper requirements/SOP.
  • Manage customer reporting and additional system milestones as required.

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of freight forwarding experience preferred.
  • Dangerous Goods Certification preferred.
  • Certified CargoWise Specialist (CCO) required.
  • Advanced knowledge of CargoWise.
  • Advanced math and geography skills; ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze numerical data, understand components, find patterns, and draw conclusions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of freight movement, air vendors, airspace configurations, container loads, special loading constraints, regulatory requirements, pricing, service routings, AIT product offerings, equipment types, Incoterms, and shipment profitability.
  • Intermediate knowledge of country regulations and AIT policies/procedures to minimize risks to customers and the company.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Basic to intermediate experience using MS Office.
  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write routine correspondence.
  • Effective communication and interaction with a variety of people; ability to present information in one-on-one or small group settings.
