About the role
This continuous recruitment is for a skilled preventive maintenance position within the Department of Defense, Air National Guard Division and the University of Hawaii, Facilities & Grounds Division. The ideal candidate must hold a current EPA certification as a Universal Technician.
Responsibilities
- Independently performs skilled preventive maintenance work in operating, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a variety of air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and overhaul of air conditioning and/or refrigeration equipment as a helper or apprentice under a journey level air conditioning and/or refrigeration mechanic.
- Certification Required: In accordance with Section 608 of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Air Act, 1990, as amended, certification as a Universal Technician is required.
Qualifications
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
- Ability to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.
