Air Conditioning & Heating Mechanic II

About the role

Performs HVAC mechanical/electrical duties at the factory trained level of proficiency on chilled water systems, commercial VRF systems and secondary HVAC air and water systems.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Five years of journey level experience in a VRF mechanical and electrical field
• Factory certified training from VRF manufacturer
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving history (no more than two moving violations in a three-year period)
• Type III certification for refrigerant recovery/recycling as established by the EPA

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal OJT or Apprentice Program
• Completion of a two-year vocational training program or apprenticeship training program in related HVAC field
• Five years of experience in commercial HVAC mechanical and electrical field
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• University certification

Skills

• Proficient with commercial DX systems, central plant equipment, and secondary HVAC air and water systems, pumps, heat exchangers

Compensation

$25.40-$31.75, with starting salaries based on factors including internal equity, relevant experience, and education.
