Air Account Manager

About the role

The Account Manager is responsible for managing customers’ import/export brokerage and freight forwarding needs, overseeing all operational and account management tasks throughout the lifecycle of an engagement. You will demonstrate critical thinking and make key decisions on behalf of customers, from initial request through final delivery, ensuring issues are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction while maintaining compliance with Federal Maritime Commission and U.S. Customs regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze shipping options and recommend solutions based on price, transit time, routing, and customer requirements.
• Monitor shipments from loading to final delivery, problem-solving any issues that arise.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for assigned customers to ensure prompt and accurate service.
• Prepare and execute documents for U.S. Customs and other government agencies to obtain proper release and duty payment.
• Quote rates by partnering with the internal quote department and determine optimal routing and carrier options.
• Ensure billing is accurate and timely.
• Maintain and help create company policies related to credit, pricing, account management, and service deliveries.
• Act as power of attorney to sign official documents for the company.
• Maintain and organize all records for a client’s transactional event(s).
• Stay informed on legal requirements to maintain compliance under global import/export regulations.
• Prepare letters of credit.
• May visit customer locations with the General Manager or assigned Sales Executive.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree helpful.
• 3-5 years of industry experience required.
• CES or CCS certification preferred; LCB helpful.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, industry journals, and legal documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and ten-key skills.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• High degree of responsibility for safeguarding confidential information.
• Self-motivated, organized, punctual, and able to work unsupervised with a positive attitude.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions in various formats.

Pay

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST
