About the role
The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 16:00 - 00:00.
Responsibilities
- Manage customers' import/export brokerage and freight forwarding needs.
- Request and analyze various shipping options and make recommendations to customers.
- Monitor the entire lifecycle of shipments, addressing any issues that arise.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
- Prepare and execute documents for U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
- Quote rates and determine the best routing and carrier options for customers.
- Ensure billing accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and create Company policies related to credit, pricing, account management, and service deliveries.
- Act as power of attorney to sign official documents.
- Organize and manage all records for a client's transactions.
- Stay updated on various legal requirements to maintain compliance under import/export regulations.
- Prepare letters of credit.
- May make visits to customer locations with the General Manager or Sales Executive.
- Receive guidance for overall objectives and work within company policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- CES or CCS preferred, LCB helpful.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College degree helpful.
- 3-5 years industry experience required.
Qualifications
- Language skills: Written and verbal communication, reading and interpreting financial reports, responding to inquiries or complaints.
- Technical experience: International logistics-all modes, understanding of customs processes.
- Office skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ten-key skills.
- Mathematical skills: Percentages, ratios, proportions, discounts, rates, areas, circumferences, volumes.
- Specific skills: Current valid driver’s license, ability to prioritize tasks, organize and delegate assignments, physical demands: light physical activity.
