Position Overview
Provides a continuum of individual student planning, school counseling core curriculum, behavioral health services, including data-driven prevention and intervention strategies for ensuring equitable access to resources and promoting academic achievement, social/emotional and career development to enhance student success for college and career readiness.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and community members by providing courteous customer service, directing inquiries, and responding to phone, email, and in-person requests.
- Aid with student intake, registration, testing, and referrals, supporting enrollment in mandated and enrichment programs and ensuring accurate placement.
- Maintain accurate student and program records by entering data and performing clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, scanning, and preparing correspondence.
- Collaborate with the Intake & Retention Specialist and Adult Education staff to provide efficient administrative support and ensure high-quality service to students and the community.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior clerical or administrative experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard office technology.
- Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student and district information.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CASAS testing regulations used by New London Adult and Continuing Education.
