Job Summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pre-K teacher in implementing daily lessons, learning centers, and classroom activities
  • Supervise children during classroom time, outdoor play, specials, meals, rest time, and transitions
  • Help maintain a welcoming, safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Provide individualized student support by reinforcing learning concepts and guiding behavior
  • Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and learning stations under teacher direction
  • Support cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in accordance with early childhood and school guidelines
  • Model and reinforce the Catholic values and mission of the school
  • Communicate positively and professionally with students, staff, and families
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in a preschool, school, or childcare setting preferred
  • A warm, patient, and nurturing approach with a genuine love for early learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to follow directions and support classroom instruction and management
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and engage in active play with children
  • Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Christ Prince of Peace Catholic School and the Catholic Church

Pre-Employment Screening

All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment. Any offer would be contingent upon successful completion of any required screening.
