Aide, Classroom
Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Instructional Aide to join our Catholic school community. Working alongside the classroom teacher, the instructional aide supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of our youngest learners in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and learning activities.
- Support students individually, in small groups, and during whole-class activities.
- Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions as assigned.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Encourage the development of age-appropriate social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Aid in classroom organization, cleanliness, and preparation for daily activities.
- Support students with personal care needs as appropriate for the age group.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and school administration.
- Model Christian values and support the mission of Catholic education.
Job Requirements
- A genuine love for working with young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Previous experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children is preferred.
- Completion of required Safe Environment training and successful background screening prior to employment.

The Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the center fosters a community dedicated to teaching and sharing faith, serving others, and fostering unity throughout the St. Louis area.
