About the role

Aquatech is seeking a full-time Estimation Engineer to join our Canonsburg, PA office. This position is exempt and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain proposal-specific costing data.
  • Obtain vendor/contractor quotes and work with Application Engineers during the proposal development stage.
  • Cross-check quotations against project specifications and confirm compliance or request revisions from the vendor.
  • Maintain proposal database.
  • Develop and maintain quote log files with pre-bid quotes, project quotes, and project PO data for EPC-related items.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Manage bids from vendors and contractors.
  • Prepare material estimates and labor hour estimates for installation activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Prepare estimates using estimating software like RS Means & Sage (Formerly Timberline).
  • Present prepared estimates to the Project Manager & Management.
  • Compile and record actual costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

  • Understanding of water treatment process equipment units as well as rotating equipment, valves, instrumentation, fabricated equipment, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of various factors impacting the overall cost of equipment, including size, material(s) of construction, certification / approval requirements, inspection & testing requirements, sourcing restrictions, etc.
  • Ability to navigate and interpret customer specifications, identify key items with significant cost impact, and apply these to equipment selection when necessary.
  • Experience developing equipment RFQs and crosschecking supplier quotations against customer specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Experience in using SAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of experience working as an Estimation Engineer.
  • Experience in the estimation of Civil works, Mechanical Installation works (Heavy Industrial), Building works, MEP, and E & I Installation work.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor costs per trade and by region/ location.
  • Hands-on experience with RS Means & Sage (Formerly Timberline) estimating software.
