AI Trust & Safety Analyst (Japanese)

About the role

This position involves investigating and analyzing trends, identifying strategic risks, and forecasting new forms of abuse to protect the trust and safety of the Client's users. You will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to prioritize business needs and translate global developments into potential impacts on users.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyze, and report on identified trends.
  • Document all data and research procedures.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and conceptualize strategic risks and threats to trust.
  • Identify emerging trends and forecast new forms of abuse.
  • Translate how global developments could cause potential adverse impact on Client's users.
  • Assimilate feedback and apply learnings in a dynamic environment.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers, leads, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Native or professional fluency in Japanese.
  • B.A./B.S degree in Computer Science, Political Science, Journalism, Cybersecurity, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with data analysis and working with datasets.
  • Experience working on counter abuse strategies for online platforms.
  • Experience working with LLMs (Large Language Models).
  • Strong understanding and work experience of international and geopolitical events and how they impact global businesses, and/or relevant work experience in a research-based role.
  • Proficient with Word/Excel/PowerPoint or Google Workspace (Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a proven ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams with senior stakeholder and executive visibility.
  • Calm under pressure, with an ability to function well in urgent, developing situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong deep-dive, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • High degree of initiative and deadline-driven productivity.
  • Strong interest in internet, culture, news, media, and current events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product policy analysis and risk identification.
  • Experience with modeling, experimentation, and causal inference.
  • Experience with adversarial testing of online consumer products.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis.
  • Familiarity with internet technologies and related policy and regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of Google products and services.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
  • Bilingual (additional languages) a plus.

Schedule

  • Days: Wednesday–Sunday (Monday and Tuesday off).
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Work Arrangement: 4 days work from home and 1 day in-person on Wednesdays.
  • Flexibility: WFH days may occasionally require in-office attendance based on business needs, sometimes with short notice.
