ManufacturingFull-time

Matson Logistics is a leading provider of multimodal transportation, warehousing, and distribution services throughout North America, known for innovative solutions and financial strength and stability.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on AI Specialist to build and support AI solutions on the business side of Matson Logistics (ML). This position serves as ML’s dedicated AI/data resource in the enterprise hub-and-spoke model, partnering closely with Matson’s IT and AI Acceleration teams while owning execution and adoption across ML's four lines of business. The role reports to ML’s Manager of Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence, ensuring alignment across all business units.

You will build solutions alongside business owners when clear ownership exists, or directly deploy solutions when no owner is identified. Post-launch, you will remain involved to fix workflows and agents as needed. The role operates within defined boundaries: business-led solution development on one side, and enterprise platform ownership (IT) on the other. IT handles platform integrity, security, architecture, and integrations, while you focus on business-side design, build, and adoption.

As the AI landscape evolves, the role will shift toward optimization, scaling proven solutions, transforming unstructured data into actionable insights, and business intelligence reporting. Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability to changing priorities and tools is essential.

Top Accountabilities

  • Build and deploy business-side AI solutions across Matson Logistics lines of business using Microsoft tools (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps), starting with quick wins and progressing to more complex builds.
  • Keep deployed solutions running by monitoring performance, fixing workflows and agents within the business layer, and escalating platform, security, data, or integration issues to IT.
  • Grow adoption and provide weekly updates to the governance board on status, issues, fixes, and delivered business value.

Responsibilities

  • Work with teams across lines of business to learn workflows, identify AI opportunities, and gather requirements for new use cases.
  • Build and deploy AI solutions using Microsoft tools (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps) for needs outside IT’s enterprise roadmap.
  • Coach and coordinate with ML’s network of Copilot Studio power users across LOBs to expand delivery capacity.
  • Operate within enterprise standards for platform use, security, and governance while managing business-side delivery.
  • Support deployed solutions beyond day-to-day upkeep, diagnosing and fixing broken workflows and agents.
  • Handle business data responsibly, adhering to security, privacy, and compliance standards, especially for Finance and HR data.
  • Set and sequence priorities with the Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence Manager, starting with high-value quick wins.
  • Track adoption, usage, and results, maintaining up-to-date dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Report weekly to the governance board and prepare updates for leadership and business partners.
  • Act as the connection point between business teams and technology teams.
