We're looking for an AI Specialist to join our IT Department to support the responsible adoption, administration, and practical use of artificial intelligence technologies throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of approved artificial intelligence platforms and services.
  • Assists with managing AI system user accounts, licenses, access permissions, configurations, and related administrative settings.
  • Collaborates with departments to understand business processes, identify operational challenges, and evaluate appropriate opportunities for the use of AI.
  • Documents business requirements, process workflows, expected outcomes, and risks associated with proposed AI use cases.
  • Develops and tests prompts, templates, workflows, assistants, agents, and other AI-enabled solutions under the direction of the IT Manager.
  • Assists with the development of workflow automations and integrations between approved AI platforms and company business applications.
  • Supports integrations with systems such as Microsoft 365, ERP applications, reporting tools, databases, and other approved business systems.
  • Creates prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate potential AI capabilities and business benefits.
  • Develops test plans, test cases, and evaluation procedures to assess the accuracy, reliability, security, usability, and effectiveness of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Reviews AI-generated outputs for accuracy, completeness, relevance, and appropriateness before solutions are released for broader use.
  • Promotes the use of human review and validation when AI-generated information may influence business, technical, financial, personnel, customer, or compliance-related decisions.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance for approved AI applications, integrations, workflows, and user access issues.
  • Coordinates with software vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and obtain product support.
  • Develops user guides, standard operating procedures, prompt libraries, frequently asked questions, training materials, and other supporting documentation.
  • Provides training, demonstrations, and individual assistance to employees using approved AI tools.
  • Supports employee adoption through communications, workshops, demonstrations, office hours, and other change-management activities.
  • Collects user feedback and recommends improvements to AI tools, workflows, training materials, and support processes.
  • Monitors AI system usage, adoption, performance, service availability, and other assigned metrics.
  • Maintains an inventory of approved AI systems, use cases, integrations, configurations, owners, and supporting documentation.
  • Assists with evaluating new AI products, features, vendors, and services through research, demonstrations, testing, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines governing the use of artificial intelligence.
  • Helps ensure that AI tools and workflows comply with company requirements for information security, privacy, confidentiality, records management, intellectual property, and acceptable use.
  • Educates users regarding restrictions on entering confidential, proprietary, personal, regulated, customer, or other sensitive information into unapproved AI systems.
  • Assists the IT Manager and appropriate business owners with AI-related security, privacy, compliance, and risk assessments.
  • Maintains documentation and supporting evidence for AI governance, internal reviews, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Monitors product updates, service changes, emerging risks, and technological developments related to artificial intelligence.
  • Communicates relevant AI system changes, limitations, risks, and recommended practices to users and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with members of the IT team and other departments on AI, automation, data, and business-process improvement projects.
  • Assists in meeting the strategic goals of the Information Technology Department.
  • Keeps current with developments in artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, and related technologies and recommends practical opportunities for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular physical attendance is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certification or completed coursework in artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Azure, or related technologies preferred.
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in information technology, business systems, data analytics, process improvement, automation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using generative artificial intelligence tools for research, content development, data analysis, process improvement, or workplace productivity is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration services is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure AI services, or similar AI and automation platforms is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of application integrations, workflows, databases, application programming interfaces, or scripting is preferred.

  • Ability to learn new software platforms and technical concepts quickly.
  • Ability to analyze business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical technology-based improvements.
  • Ability to test AI-generated outputs and identify inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or unreliable results.
  • Basic understanding of information security, data privacy, confidentiality, access control, and responsible technology use.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide patient, professional support and training.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with members of the IT team, business departments, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Some travel may be required between MI and CO.
  • Ability to read and comprehend multi-step instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting complex business financial statements, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations, industry standards, and partner/vendor/solution guidance.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Must be able to deliver presentations and respond to questions from a variety of audiences, including managers, clients, and customers.

$65,000 - $73,000 /year
