AI Software Engineering Intern
About the role
Contributes to the design, development, and optimization of AI software solutions including algorithms, frameworks, and AI software architectures across domains such as computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning. Assists in implementing and tuning models for performance and accuracy, applied research, and hardware-software integration. May also include the creation of AI software solutions in partnership with internal product teams and external partners as well as system-level deployment to enable scalable and efficient AI solutions.
As an intern, learns and applies knowledge, builds skills, and explores future career opportunities through hands-on experience and projects that support Intel business goals in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize AI software solutions, including algorithms and frameworks.
- Implement and tune models for performance and accuracy.
- Engage in applied research and hardware-software integration.
- Collaborate with internal product teams and external partners to create AI software solutions.
- Support system-level deployment for scalable and efficient AI solutions.
Requirements
This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
- Available to work part-time for 6-12 months and onsite for the duration of the internship while pursuing a degree.
- Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- 3+ months of experience in programming languages such as Python and C++.
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX Runtime, and OpenVINO.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graphics experience (GPU / CUDA).

Schedule
This position requires being onsite 2 days per week.
Pay
Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $101,100.00 - $136,800.00 USD (Hourly Role).
Standard internship rates are based on your degree, location, and the job role. The specific compensation range for your preferred location and job role will be shared by your recruiter during the hiring process.

Work Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
