AI Security Engineer

About the role

This hybrid position in the Columbia, SC area requires obtaining a federal security clearance after hire. The role focuses on building and working with AI workflows and automated processes within cyber security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units, technology SMEs, senior security engineers, and audit/compliance teams to build out technology specifications and workflows supporting SIEM/SOAR integrations, AI workflows, and automation across the enterprise.
• Support and expand the corporate detection catalog by publishing and deploying AI detection sets, mapping AI workflows to technology sources, and providing regular performance tuning.
• Improve triage efforts by reducing false positives and enhancing AI-related alerts. Analyze triage trends and escalation patterns to fine-tune AI alerts and establish automated workflows.
• Build automation scripts using Python, BASH, and PowerShell.
• Stand up baseline monitoring and monitor guardrails for all enterprise AI tools and workflows.
• Build and present reports to executives, focusing on usage patterns, remediation efforts, and AI-focused recommendations.
• Participate in tabletop exercises to validate AI runbooks and SIEM/SOAR platform integrations.

Requirements

• In-depth experience with SIEM/SOAR solutions.
• Automation scripting and integrations.
• Experience with AI risks and workflow support.
• Strong communication skills.
