AI Security Engineer
About the role
We're seeking an experienced AI Security Engineer to help mature and secure an organization's rapidly growing enterprise AI environment. This is a high-impact consulting opportunity reporting directly to executive leadership, focused on strengthening AI security, governance, and best practices—not building an AI program from scratch. The engagement is expected to last 3–6 months, depending on experience. A senior consultant may complete the work in approximately three months, while a mid-level consultant may support implementation, documentation, and knowledge transfer over a longer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Assess the current AI security posture and identify security gaps
- Develop AI governance standards and security best practices
- Partner with infrastructure and development teams to implement secure AI processes
- Evaluate risks associated with AI models and enterprise AI deployments
- Secure AI infrastructure, integrations, and data flows
- Design security controls around Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateways
- Review permissions, access controls, and AI platform security
- Document recommendations and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
