About the role

The AI Foundation Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART), which consists of multiple Scrum teams. The RTE is responsible for facilitating ART events and processes to assist teams in delivering value. This role involves communicating with stakeholders, removing barriers, escalating impediments, managing risk, and driving relentless improvement for the ART.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate ART ceremonies such as Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART sync, Product Owner (PO) Sync, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapts.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and development work.
• Establish and communicate the cadence of iterations, PIs, and releases for the ART, and oversee the development of reports to track progress.
• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART by understanding team dependencies and addressing risks or impediments to achieving PI objectives.
• Provide regular and open communication on team progress and challenges to delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Champion data quality requirements in Azure DevOps (ADO), and facilitate feature and capability estimation.
• Promote the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) across teams.
• Measure ART delivery and performance, reviewing metrics with the ART to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist Program Managers in tracking the execution of features and capabilities while operating within lean budgets.
• Coach teams on agile mindset, scrum practices, and delivery management.
• Foster communities of practice and promote the use of software engineering and quality best practices.

Requirements

• Prior agile experience is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Frameworks/Methodologies, Data Analysis, Flow Metrics/Reporting, and tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Targetprocess, and PowerBI.
• Ability to act as a servant leader and facilitate ceremonies to enable predictable delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams, including Scrum and Kanban teams.
• Ability to collaborate with local and dispersed teams to deliver business outcomes and effectively facilitate conflicting interests.
• Ability to set clear expectations and align stakeholders on shared goals, including facilitating discussions to determine priorities and ensuring transparency across teams.
• Promote an agile mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• A clear understanding of Kanban, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks.
• Experience with risk management and dependency management.
• Understanding of incremental delivery/release management and knowledge of multiple business domains.

Schedule

9/80 (every other Friday off). Monday/Fridays are remote.
