AI Research Resident - Open Source AGI

About the role

The Prime Intellect AI Research Residency is a paid, full-time program designed for individuals passionate about building at the intersection of frontier research, real infrastructure, and go-to-market for a nascent category. Participants will collaborate with leading experts to develop state-of-the-art open language models, contribute to projects aimed at democratizing AI, and gain practical experience in deploying large-scale AI models.

Who We're Looking For

• Researchers, engineers, and hackers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, including PhD students or postdoctoral researchers in computer science, mathematics, physics, neuroscience, or related fields.
• Experienced software engineers with a strong interest in transitioning to AI research.
• Self-taught individuals with a proven track record of exceptional technical contributions.
• Candidates with experience in machine learning, distributed systems, or protocols.

Focus Areas

• Distributed AI Infrastructure: Contribute to the development of the Prime Intellect protocol, enabling massively scalable, distributed compute marketplaces and collective ownership of AI models.
• Open Language Models: Build large language models as open-source software, fostering continuous improvement and model merging.
• Coding Agents: Train AI agents that deeply understand code semantics and autonomously build complex software systems.
• Scientific Discovery: Explore scientific agents and foundation models to accelerate research in fields such as longevity drug discovery, materials science, and other scientific areas.
