AI Research Intern
Overview
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) is exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance productivity and operational efficiency across a global semiconductor organization. This internship is designed for someone who can help us answer a fundamental question: Where should we start with AI-and how do we do it responsibly?
Key Responsibilities
Research practical AI use cases relevant to a semiconductor environment (e.g., Sales, HR, engineering workflows, manufacturing support, and corporate functions)
Analyze how peer companies and leading organizations are deploying AI tools while protecting confidential and proprietary information
Evaluate AI platforms (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, enterprise copilots) with a focus on data privacy, model training risk, and enterprise controls
Identify "low-risk, high-impact" opportunities for AI adoption within AOS
Develop guidelines and recommendations for safe and compliant use of AI, including guardrails around sensitive data
Liaise with external AI vendors/partners to understand capabilities, limitations, and security frameworks
Synthesize findings into clear, executive-ready recommendations, including a proposed starting roadmap
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, HR, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
Strong research and critical thinking skills; able to separate hype from practical application
Interest in AI with an appreciation for data privacy, security, and compliance considerations
Able to communicate complex topics in a clear, business-oriented way
Comfortable navigating ambiguity-we are building the playbook as we go
