About the role
We believe that ten years from now, 90% of business interactions with customers will be handled by autonomous AI Agents. This role is at the forefront of defining those AI Agents. The position starts with two weeks of intensive training where you’ll learn to build AI Agents using the Regal AI Agent Platform, including prompting best practices, function building, and the Regal Operating System.
After training, you’ll shape conversational experiences by writing prompts, tuning AI agent settings, and building custom functions. This role is designed as a launching pad for entry-level talent looking to start careers in AI. After 1–2 years, you’ll be prepared for more senior roles at Regal in engineering, product management, or customer success.
AI Product Specialists own the creation and refinement of voice prompts and conversation flows, blending prompt engineering with user-focused product sense to deliver natural, brand-aligned interactions. You’ll become an expert in tuning settings for STT providers, TTS providers, and LLMs, pioneer new prompt engineering techniques, and provide product feedback to enhance AI Agent performance. You’ll also own quality control and testing to ensure AI Agents meet Regal’s standards.

- Shape conversational experiences: Build AI Agents on the Regal platform using prompt engineering and conversational flows. Tune AI agent settings (STT, LLM, TTS) to achieve Regal’s signature conversational quality and meet customer requirements.
- Build custom functions/tooling: Address LLM limitations by writing code to create custom functions (e.g., validate zip codes, schedule callbacks, update profiles).
- QA test: Develop test cases and thoroughly test AI Agents to meet Regal’s and the customer’s quality bar. Build tooling to scale QA testing and boost customer confidence.
- Iterate and learn: Review agent performance with the AI Forward Deployed Engineer owning the client relationship. Refine the AI Agent based on customer success criteria.
- Codify best practices: Document and share best practices for building AI Agents and achieving use cases. Participate in prompt engineering forums and research to expand Regal’s techniques.
- Deliver product feedback: Work closely with Regal PMs and engineers to provide feedback on the AI Agent Platform. Identify issues, gaps, and new capabilities to improve performance.
- Support sales demos: Collaborate with the sales team to build AI Agent MVPs for prospect demos.

- Demonstrated curiosity for AI and voice: Excitement about Voice AI and staying updated on the latest products. Experience with conversational design or prompt engineering for school, work, or personal projects.
