AI Product Specialist (3-6 month contract opportunity)

About the role

Plan, initiate, and prioritize development requirements to manage projects related to the Net-Rx suite of solutions. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Understand the user workflow and train staff to support and sell the product.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the product vision and roadmap for the Net-Rx suite of solutions, balancing short- and long-term priorities in alignment with company strategy and business goals.
  • Conduct market analysis to validate product-market fit and differentiation, identifying competitive gaps and white-space opportunities that inform product positioning and design.
  • Evaluate and prioritize product initiatives and development requirements using established scoring methodologies (e.g., RICE, MoSCoW), making clear trade-off decisions and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from intake through sun-setting, including design, testing, execution, messaging, pricing, profitability management, and post-launch performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain product documentation, including user guides, sprint release notes, and knowledge base materials, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery aligned with each development cycle.
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog grooming, collaborating with development teams to refine requirements and manage delivery priorities.
  • Manage day-to-day product development workflow, including Jira ticket review, requirements clarification, stakeholder follow-up, and hands-on user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate functionality prior to release.
  • Maintain and apply deep knowledge of the LTC market landscape, including SNF, ALF, IL, and memory care segments, key industry players, and growth drivers to inform product strategy.
  • Understand long-term care community operations, including resident care workflows, staffing models, and operational pain points, and apply that knowledge to define product requirements and user workflows.
  • Leverage expertise in long-term care pharmacy (LTCP) operations, including dispensing cycles, packaging workflows, med pass processes, and billing, to drive product design and member value decisions.
  • Ensure product design and specifications proactively embed healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including CMS Conditions of Participation, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations, partnering with legal and compliance teams as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs (Part A/B/D, SNF PPS) and reimbursement policies to product decisions, monitoring legislative developments that impact the LTC pharmacy space.
  • Understand GPO contracting structures and Pharmacy Services Administration (PSAO) models, including formulary management, rebate structures, and member enrollment, and apply them to product design, pricing, and member engagement.
  • Monitor and synthesize legislative and policy developments at the state and federal level relevant to LTC and pharmacy, translating implications for product strategy and member communications.
  • Design and execute Voice of Customer (VoC) research through user groups, one-on-one customer meetings, interviews, and surveys to understand needs, pain points, and desired solutions. Translate insights into product opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive intelligence activities, including benchmarking competitor offerings, tracking industry developments, and identifying key differentiators to inform the product roadmap.
  • Translate complex, ambiguous customer and stakeholder needs into clearly framed product requirements and value hypotheses that drive scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial, IT, Finance, Legal, and other impacted teams to drive shared outcomes and ensure design and output are consistent with business goals.
  • Influence without authority by building strong working relationships across the organization, gaining alignment through data-driven storytelling and logical persuasion at all levels from staff to senior management.
  • Deliver clear, audience-appropriate stakeholder communication, including status updates, decision-enabling materials, and executive-level narratives that align stakeholders and drive action.
  • Own adoption and go-to-market (GTM) execution for assigned products, coordinating sales enablement, marketing content, demos for strategic initiatives, and tracking utilization and adoption metrics.
  • Lead product triage for reported issues, performing root cause analysis, assessing business impact and urgency, and coordinating resolution paths with development and operations teams.
  • Design and deliver internal training programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for newly released and enhanced products, including process documentation, reference materials, and associate-facing training.
  • Net-Rx Operational Execution
    • Manage recurring operational responsibilities supporting Net-Rx platform performance and data integrity.
    • Perform scheduled downloads and validation of industry pricing benchmarks, including MDDB, FUL, and NADAC data.
    • Monitor daily job status and system-generated email alerts, identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating anomalies as appropriate.
    • Coordinate server patching and scheduled maintenance communications, partnering with IT and operations to minimize disruption and ensure stakeholder awareness.

Requirements

  • BA / BS, MIS focus preferred, PMP certification, five years of work experience in a similar position, or a combination of these preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of claims processing from dispensing systems in the LTC & Retail industries.
  • Expert knowledge of pharmacy pricing and operations.
  • Proven experience overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Strong product management, business analysis, and/or software development experience.
  • Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple competing initiatives.
  • Able to contribute to strategic and tactical plans.
  • Engage effectively and persuasively at all levels of the organization, from staff to senior management.
