About the role
This is a foundational hire. You will do different aspects of dispatching in trucking — without needing any trucking experience. You’ll keep real freight moving for real customers: assigning loads, communicating with drivers, handling exceptions, and solving the problems of the day.
What You’ll Do
- Run daily dispatch execution from our playbook: load assignment, driver communication, check-calls, and exception handling
- Keep loads covered and customers informed, escalating with judgment when something can’t wait
- Use AI tools daily to research, troubleshoot, draft, analyze, and automate your own work
- Improve the playbook as you go — document what works, flag what doesn’t, and ship a better process every week
- Call out problems early and come with proposed solutions, not just escalations
- Partner with engineering and product to turn recurring manual work into automated workflows
- Track the KPIs of your operation — load coverage, on-time performance, driver utilization — and use them to improve
What You’ll Bring
- AI-native habits: you already use AI as your default tool for learning, research, and producing work
- Sharp critical thinking — you spot what’s broken, ask why, and bring a proposed answer
- Hungry and coachable: you want direction, feedback, and a steep learning curve
- Strong written and verbal communication — you’ll be talking to drivers, customers, and engineers in the same hour
- Organized and calm under pressure; comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- No trucking, logistics, or dispatch experience required
Nice to Have
- Internship or early experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or a fast-moving startup
- Comfort with data — spreadsheets, SQL, or light scripting
- Spanish language proficiency, a meaningful asset in our operating markets
