AI/ML Senior Product Counsel
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a AI/ML Senior Product Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will serve as a senior legal partner for AI/ML product initiatives, helping shape how emerging technologies are developed and brought to market. The attorney will work closely with product, engineering, compliance, and patent stakeholders to provide practical guidance on legal risk, intellectual property, and commercialization issues. This position is well suited for a business-minded product counsel who can translate complex AI/ML issues into clear, actionable advice. The work will also include building scalable compliance support and training internal teams across the organization.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML legal issues and coordinate across functions
- Influence product development plans for legal and compliance considerations
- Collaborate with the patent team on AI/ML intellectual property protection strategy
- Ensure open source software compliance with legal standards
- Advise on AI/ML contractual provisions and create playbook content
- Build compliance support processes for AI/ML products
- Provide AI/ML training to internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm and corporate environment
- JD degree with excellent academic credentials
- Substantive AI/ML technical and legal expertise
- Degree in engineering or computer science preferred
- Registered Patent Attorney with prior in-house patent experience highly preferred
- Open source licensing experience preferred
- Strong project management and organizational skills

Pay
$232,200 – $258,000 annually
