AI/ML Engineer III

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions for real-world applications
• Automate software functions across multiple programs
• Develop mission-focused AI capabilities such as computer vision for threat detection
• Prototype and deploy AI solutions with a highly collaborative engineering team
• Lead technical projects and mentor engineers in AI/ML practices
• Translate high-level guidance into actionable requirements, designs, and roadmaps
• Shape AI strategy and influence technical decisions across the organization
• Architect scalable AI/ML systems that integrate with existing software and hardware platforms
• Develop and oversee robust validation and testing frameworks for performance, safety, and compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI/ML solutions with mission-specific requirements

Qualifications

• 6+ years of AI/ML engineering experience (9+ years without a degree)
• Strong Python plus C++, C#, or Java development experience
• Hands-on experience with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
• Production experience developing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML models (deep learning, transformers, generative AI, reinforcement learning)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, or related STEM discipline
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and advanced AI/ML techniques
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, or Java
• Demonstrated experience deploying AI/ML models in production environments
• Knowledge of regulatory and cybersecurity requirements for AI/ML systems in aerospace and defense
• Experience with GPU programming and high-performance computing for ML workloads
• Knowledge of advanced statistical and ML methods
