Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI solutions for real-world applications
- Automate software functions across multiple programs
- Develop mission-focused AI capabilities such as computer vision for threat detection
- Prototype and deploy AI solutions with a highly collaborative engineering team
- Lead technical projects and mentor engineers in AI/ML practices
- Translate high-level guidance into actionable requirements, designs, and roadmaps
- Shape AI strategy and influence technical decisions across the organization
- Architect scalable AI/ML systems that integrate with existing software and hardware platforms
- Develop and oversee robust validation and testing frameworks for performance, safety, and compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI/ML solutions with mission-specific requirements
Qualifications
- 6+ years of AI/ML engineering experience (9+ years without a degree)
- Strong Python plus C++, C#, or Java development experience
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
- Production experience developing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML models (deep learning, transformers, generative AI, reinforcement learning)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, or related STEM discipline
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and advanced AI/ML techniques
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, or Java
- Demonstrated experience deploying AI/ML models in production environments
- Knowledge of regulatory and cybersecurity requirements for AI/ML systems in aerospace and defense
- Experience with GPU programming and high-performance computing for ML workloads
- Knowledge of advanced statistical and ML methods
