About the role

The role involves designing and implementing production-scale recommendation and ranking algorithms for a voice-first dating app. It requires expertise in scaling user-facing algorithms for consumer personalization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core matching and recommendation engines from zero to production scale.
• Work alongside founders from Uber and Cash App to build systems defining the user experience.
• Lead the transition of matchmaking systems from experimental prototypes to robust, scalable production environments.
• Grow and mentor a small, high-performing technical team while maintaining a hands-on approach to shipping high-quality, user-facing personalization features.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling user-facing recommendation, matching, or ranking algorithms at an early-stage consumer company.
• Significant tenure as an early engineer during a 0→1 or rapid scaling phase.
• Strong leadership background with experience growing small technical teams.
• A passion for building intimate, high-signal personalization experiences for end users.

Qualifications

• Expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and machine learning frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or other relevant programming languages.
