AI Infrastructure Platform Engineer (Python)W2 ContractPay Rate: $55 - $65 per hourLocation: Austin, TX - Remote RoleJob Summary:We are building the foundational platform that powers next-generation AI agents and intelligent systems at scale. This is not a model research or prompt engineering role. The focus is on designing and building highly scalable, reliable backend systems that enable agent-driven applications to operate in production environments. Duties and Responsibilities:Design and build scalable backend services in Python for AI and agent platformsArchitect systems that handle high concurrency, large volumes of data, and low-latency requirementsBuild and operate microservices deployed on KubernetesDesign systems with reliability, fault tolerance, and observability as core principlesPlan for horizontal scalability to support rapid growth and increasing usageWork on asynchronous processing, distributed workflows, and event-driven architecturesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform capabilities that support AI use casesContinuously improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency Requirements and Qualifications:Strong proficiency in Python with experience building production-grade systemsSolid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentalsExperience designing and building distributed systems at scaleHands-on experience with concurrency, multithreading, or asynchronous programmingExperience with microservices architecture and API designPractical experience with Kubernetes and containerized deploymentsAbility to design systems that account for failure scenarios, scaling challenges, and performance trade-offs Preferred Qualifications:Experience with AWS or similar cloud platformsFamiliarity with event-driven systems such as Kafka or pub/sub architecturesExperience with caching strategies such as RedisExposure to observability tools for logging, monitoring, and tracingSome familiarity with AI or ML systems, LLMs, or agent-based architectures Desired Skills and ExperiencePython, Backend Engineering, AI Infrastructure, AI Agent Platforms, Distributed Systems, Scalable Systems, High-Concurrency Systems, Low-Latency Systems, Microservices, API Design, Kubernetes, Containerization, Cloud Computing, AWS, Asynchronous Programming, Multithreading, Event-Driven Architecture, Distributed Workflows, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Redis, Caching, Reliability Engineering, Fault Tolerance, Observability, Logging, Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, Performance Optimization, Cost Optimization, Data Structures, Algorithms, Large-Scale Data Processing, Machine Learning Systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agent-Based Architectures Bayside Solutions, Inc. is not able to sponsor any candidates at this time.
