About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI Full Stack Software Engineer to join our innovative team at CMM. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end AI-powered solutions, from robust backend services to intuitive user interfaces, to enhance our healthcare and decision-making platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI/ML development within healthcare settings, with a focus on building scalable, compliant, and impactful solutions that improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

As a Senior AI Full Stack Software Engineer, you will lead the development of advanced AI models, integrate them into healthcare systems such as electronic health records (EHRs) and clinical applications, and collaborate closely with product teams, data scientists, and clinical stakeholders. Your expertise will help shape innovative healthcare solutions that leverage the latest AI technologies, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and medical imaging analytics. You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to strategic AI initiatives, and ensure all solutions meet regulatory and ethical standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare AI, making a tangible difference in patient care and operational workflows.

Priority will be given to candidates residing in the Columbus, OH, and Atlanta, GA metropolitan areas, with the possibility of remote work depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in AI/ML development preferred
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience building AI solutions in healthcare or life sciences
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Proven expertise in healthcare AI models for clinical NLP, medical imaging, patient risk stratification, and care personalization
  • Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems using tools like Pydantic, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases
  • Proficiency in full stack development with Python, Node.js, and modern web frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex AI concepts to clinical and executive stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and deployment of AI-driven healthcare solutions supporting decision-making, patient engagement, and operational efficiency
  • Integrate AI technologies into existing healthcare IT infrastructure, including EHRs and clinical systems, ensuring scalability and compliance
  • Develop and optimize secure, HIPAA-compliant data pipelines for training and deploying AI models on structured and unstructured healthcare data
  • Conduct rigorous model evaluation using metrics such as sensitivity, specificity, and AUC-ROC, ensuring adherence to regulatory and ethical standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the strategic direction of AI initiatives within the organization
  • Rapidly prototype AI solutions, collaborating with product teams to vet multiple concepts and iterate efficiently
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in healthcare AI and incorporate best practices into development processes
