AI+ Finance Lead
About the role
S&P Global Inc. is seeking a strategic and innovative AI+ Lead to join our Enterprise Finance and Strategy team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance AI+ Strategy & Program Management, the AI+ Lead will partner closely with Corporate Finance and divisional CFOs to implement AI solutions that are scalable, ethical, and aligned with corporate objectives for the Finance and Strategy team.
This role will work closely with the Head of Finance AI+ Strategy & Program Management to develop the Finance Strategy for AI+ and partner with the Finance Leadership Team (FLT), Finance Technology Lead, and key AI stakeholders throughout the enterprise to execute the long-term strategy, including artificial intelligence for Finance, automation, and robotics.
The ideal candidate has prior experience leading initiatives that harness AI/ML, NLP, and GenAI technologies to improve Finance processes, operational efficiency, and organizational performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive AI+ strategy for the Finance team, aligned with SPGI's overall business objectives.
- Identify and prioritize AI opportunities across Finance processes, including creating a roadmap for AI+ initiatives, outlining key milestones, resources, and timelines.
- Guide the implementation of AI technologies (including automation, robotics, AI/ML, and GenAI), ensuring they integrate smoothly with existing workflows and systems.
- Lead the design and deployment of AI solutions that improve business performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiencies across the Finance function.
- Partner closely with the Finance Technology Lead, Corporate Finance, and divisional CFOs to ensure AI solutions are aligned with business needs and stakeholder readiness for AI adoption.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and buy-in for AI+ initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into AI+ solutions.
- Partner with technology and key stakeholders to influence and shape a data management strategy that supports AI initiatives, focusing on data quality, accessibility, and utilization.
- Conduct readiness assessments with stakeholders to understand their needs, providing thought leadership on how AI can drive innovation and solve business problems.
- Evaluate current AI capabilities (data, technology, talent, and processes), identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead the design and deployment of AI+ projects within the Finance team.
- Coordinate with internal technology teams, Corporate Finance, and external vendors to implement AI+ solutions effectively.
- Articulate the potential of AI/ML, NLP, and GenAI tools, helping stakeholders understand their benefits, limitations, and prerequisites (such as data quality) for successful implementation.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery of AI+ initiatives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and ROI of AI+ initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on the progress and outcomes of AI+ projects, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for optimization.
- Develop and implement mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of AI+ strategies and projects, using data analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure AI initiatives are developed and deployed ethically, following responsible AI practices that address issues such as bias, fairness, and transparency.
- Lead the definition of AI governance mechanisms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to review AI projects, ensuring they adhere to ethical guidelines and align with regulatory standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to AI, data privacy, and ethics, ensuring compliance.
- Represent the Finance team in internal and external forums related to AI advancements.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in finance, digital transformation, or related fields, with substantial experience in implementing AI, automation, or robotics strategies.
- Proven experience in leading AI/ML, NLP, and GenAI projects in a global, complex organizational environment.
- Strong project and program management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience partnering with Finance organizations, including Corporate Finance teams, divisional CFOs, or Finance technology functions.
- Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated success developing AI roadmaps, establishing adoption strategies, and measuring business impact through KPI and ROI frameworks.
- Passion for innovation with the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, solve complex business challenges, and drive organizational change.

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $115,236 to $201,357 for US candidates. Final base salary will be based on the individual’s geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan but is not eligible for additional compensation such as sales commission.
