AI Factory Thermal Cooling Simulation Engineer
About the role
The AI Factory Thermal Cooling Simulation Engineer is a critical technical specialist within Siemens’ AI Factory program, dedicated to the advanced modeling and simulation of thermal and cooling systems for cutting-edge AI infrastructure. This role is pivotal in translating complex design concepts into robust simulations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of high-density computing environments. You will leverage Siemens' powerful simulation tools and partner closely with future architects to drive innovation in thermal management.
Responsibilities
Applying advanced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) airflow and heat transfer modeling to design and optimize cooling solutions for AI Factory infrastructure.
Developing and executing hydraulic modeling of liquid cooling loops, including pipes, pumps, valves, and Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).
Conducting steady-state and transient simulations of chilled water and direct-to-chip cooling systems to predict and enhance performance.
Translating intricate design concepts into comprehensive thermal and cooling simulations and models, providing critical insights for system architects.
Collaborating effectively in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams spanning mechanical engineering, thermal design, and AI infrastructure development.
Utilizing Siemens' suite of simulation tools to model system performance and contribute to the dedicated full-time thermal simulation capabilities of the team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in CFD airflow and heat transfer modeling.
Experience with hydraulic modeling of liquid cooling loops.
Demonstrated ability to perform steady-state and transient simulations of cooling systems.
Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
Ability to work across disciplines in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience with Siemens simulation tools such as StarCCM+ and/or Amesim.
Experience in thermal management for high-density computing or data center environments.
Familiarity with Modelica or other multi-physics modeling languages.
Proven ability to partner with system architects to influence design decisions based on simulation results.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 10% annually. Actual offer may be lower or higher depending on selected professional.
