About The Role The Distinguished AI Engineer role at Capital One offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of large-scale AI systems that revolutionize banking experiences. This remote-eligible position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams of engineers, research scientists, product managers, and technical program managers to design, develop, and deploy sophisticated AI solutions. The engineer will work on foundational AI models, including large language models, similarity search, and governance frameworks, utilizing a broad stack of open-source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, PyTorch, and VectorDBs. The role requires inventiveness in optimizing AI models for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, while contributing to the long-term technical vision of Capital One’s AI systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building impactful systems that change how customers and associates interact with banking services, and will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to responsible AI deployment.
