AI Engineer

About the Role

Fanatics is seeking a full-time AI Engineer to shape and execute its AI strategy across the company. This role involves working directly with business leaders to identify automation opportunities, design and deploy agentic workflows, and set the standard for AI deployment at Fanatics. You'll own problems end-to-end, from definition to scaling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI automation opportunities that drive business impact.
• Design, build, and deploy custom agents and workflows using frontier models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) and modern tools (MCP servers, agent SDKs, orchestration tools, browser automation, evals).
• Contribute to Fanatics' AI strategy, including tool investment, workflow prioritization, and impact measurement.
• Take projects from concept to production: scope problems, design solutions, build prototypes, run evaluations, and drive adoption.
• Help establish AI governance and best practices, including tool evaluation, security coordination, and adoption tracking.
• Evaluate automation opportunities critically, define success metrics, and measure ROI.
• Bring creative ideas and judgment to the role, balancing strategy with execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Hands-on experience building with frontier LLMs and shipping custom agents or workflows that solve real business problems.
• Familiarity with the modern AI stack: LLM APIs, MCP, agent frameworks (Claude SDK, OpenAI SDK, LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.), prompt engineering, RAG, and evaluation methods.
• Proficiency in Python and willingness to learn new tools as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic mindset paired with a results-driven attitude.

Pay

Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 USD (base pay only, excludes incentives). Compensation considers location, experience, qualifications, and training.
