AI Engineer/AI Developer

AI Engineer – Agentic AI Location: USA Work Model: Hybrid Team: Agentic AI Foundry Role Overview We are looking for a software engineer with strong backend development experience to build scalable applications, APIs, and integrations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Node.js and API development, along with exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as Angular. The candidate should also have a basic understanding of generative AI concepts, including RAG, MCP, AI agents, and LLM-based application development. Deep AI/ML expertise is not required, but an interest in building software applications that integrate with AI services is important. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js. Build and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations. Integrate internal and external applications through APIs and web services. Design clean, reusable, and maintainable backend components. Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Implement authentication, authorization, logging, error handling, and API security. Collaborate with frontend developers working with Angular or similar frameworks. Integrate applications with LLM and generative AI APIs. Assist with development of RAG-based applications using enterprise data and documents. Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, tools, or integrations. Support development of basic AI agents and agent-based workflows. Write unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews. Troubleshoot application, API, and integration issues. Participate in application deployment and CI/CD processes. Required Skills Strong software development fundamentals. Hands-on backend development experience with Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs. Understanding of API authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and API keys. Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar. Experience with Git and standard software development workflows. Understanding of application architecture, error handling, logging, and debugging. Experience with Angular or another modern JavaScript frontend framework is preferred. AI and Generative AI Knowledge Candidates should have a basic understanding of, or hands-on exposure to: Large language models (LLMs). Prompt engineering. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Embeddings and vector databases. Model Context Protocol (MCP). AI tools and tool calling. AI agents and agent workflows. Integration with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Azure OpenAI, or similar. Advanced machine learning or data science experience is not required. Preferred Skills TypeScript. Angular. Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases. Docker. Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. CI/CD pipelines.
