AI Automation Engineer

About the role

WilmerHale is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated and AI-based solutions to improve legal workflows. You will collaborate with practice and business stakeholders to drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and spearhead projects that leverage the Microsoft Studio ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and gather requirements.
• Review, analyze, and model business processes and information flows to identify inefficiencies.
• Design and implement automated solutions using the Microsoft Studio ecosystem (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, PowerApps, SharePoint, PowerBI).
• Define and deliver processes to ensure service levels align with customer experience expectations.
• Integrate automation solutions with existing software systems and databases.
• Provide technical oversight and code reviews for junior team members.
• Document process change requirements ensuring consistent, high-quality output.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align initiatives with firm goals.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of application design, development, and support experience.
• Strong technical background in workflow automation and process improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft O365, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, PowerApps, SharePoint, and PowerBI.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
