About the role
The Strategic Technology Group (STG) at Infosys is a unit for senior technologists who tackle complex, large-scale technology challenges. As a Senior Technologist, you will design frameworks, deliver production-ready code, and provide technical leadership across software design, cloud-native architectures, enterprise platforms, data engineering, and emerging technologies including generative AI and agentic AI. You will shape technology direction, solve business challenges, mentor teams, and drive resilient, high-quality outcomes while engaging closely with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate project requirements and use cases to deliver high-quality design, frameworks, and production-ready code.
- Design technology frameworks for complex scenarios, develop design patterns, and create reference implementations.
- Design reusable assets and conduct design reviews.
- Deliver high-quality code across applications, databases, and integrations; optimize code, debug complex routines, and develop code generators and pilot implementations for reusable components.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure alignment on project goals and technology implementations.
- Provide technical guidance to peers and help maintain delivery consistency and code quality.
- Identify and independently develop proof of concepts (PoCs) for emerging programming and complex modules.
- Provide inputs for multi-technology and multi-language high-risk deployments.
- Evaluate and implement technical services to meet high-quality service (QoS) requirements aligned with business and IT KPIs.
- Create reusable assets and deliver defect-free, impactful code to achieve quality benchmarks and Zero-Defect Delivery.
- Support complex projects by resolving technical challenges and reducing risk exposure.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
- Support test automation and execute test strategies to drive quality improvements.

Required skills and experience
- Core development & architecture: Analysis and design skills with experience in core development, design, and architecture; implement design patterns and architecture patterns.
- Generative AI: Experience developing and applying generative AI models; understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning architectures, and natural language processing (NLP).
- Programming & frameworks: Proficiency in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- AI model development: Design, develop, and deploy generative AI models for text generation, image creation, and code synthesis; fine-tune pre-trained LLMs for specific tasks and domains.
- AI lifecycle management: Manage the entire AI development lifecycle from data pre-processing and model training to evaluation, optimization, and deployment.
- Collaboration: Work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to define requirements, ensure technical feasibility, and integrate AI solutions.
- Responsible AI: Champion responsible AI development with a focus on bias mitigation, fairness, and explainability.
- Open-source: Experience with open-source frameworks and tools; ability to write high-quality, performant code; evaluate and review code performance; conduct code reviews.
- Agile delivery: Experience in fast-paced, agile environments; perform PoCs for new technologies.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred skills and experience
- Master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience fine-tuning open-source AI models.
- Strong understanding of one or more domain expertise areas and associated industry standards.
- Industry-acclaimed external certifications, if applicable.
- Active participation in technology forums and contributions to the open-source community.
Additional required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution; or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
- This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
