Responsibilities
- Establish and take ownership of the AI strategy and implementation roadmap for our client's enterprise IoT and OT security platform, identifying areas where AI, machine learning, and generative AI can enhance current and upcoming product offerings
- Architect, develop, and launch AI-driven applications and services into production, including building or fine-tuning lightweight models for tasks such as data normalization, classification, deduplication, and fingerprinting
- Examine existing datasets to uncover patterns and translate insights into new automated rules or machine learning models, while building the scalable backend infrastructure needed to power AI initiatives
- Partner closely with product management, engineering, executive leadership, and customer-facing teams to ensure AI efforts are aligned with overarching business goals
- Assess emerging AI technologies and evaluate their relevance to cybersecurity, operational technology, and IoT use cases, while guiding key architectural decisions around AI platforms, model deployment, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure
- Act as the organization's primary AI subject matter expert, translating sophisticated technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of backend engineering experience, including proficiency with Java and Spring, combined with a strong blend of hands-on development, solution architecture, and strategic AI leadership
- Significant practical experience designing, building, and deploying AI solutions, including deep familiarity with Generative AI, large language models, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, vector databases, and contemporary AI frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise integrating production-quality AI capabilities into existing platforms using public LLM APIs, including leveraging LLMs to produce scripts, rules, and structured logic for downstream system automation
- Track record of independently driving technical initiatives from initial concept all the way through production release, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and establish processes where none currently exist
- Experience shaping product direction and crafting technology roadmaps, along with excellent communication skills that enable conveying complex technical ideas clearly to audiences across all levels of technical proficiency
- Proven ability to design and build scalable, cloud-native applications and services that support enterprise-grade AI workloads
