About the role

The AI and ML Engineer, Lead is responsible for designing and implementing effective AI solution architecture or strategy utilizing various AI technologies and methods to address clients' business problems and needs while adhering to the organization's strategies, business goals, and ethical considerations. This role involves applying leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, contributing to the development of new principles and concepts, and providing highly innovative solutions. The role requires operating with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, mentoring or supervising employees in both company and technical competencies, and coding and developing scalable solutions from scratch using languages such as Python or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement effective AI solution architecture or strategy utilizing various AI technologies and methods to address clients' business problems and needs while adhering to the organization's strategies, business goals, and ethical considerations.
  • Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex problems.
  • Mentor or supervise employees in both company and technical competencies.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, or model training and deployment pipelines.
  • Create software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data to support machine learning workflows.
  • Build and maintain complex software or machine learning applications at enterprise scale.
  • Work on real-time data, streaming applications, or AI model deployment.
  • Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in application development, AI/ML engineering, software engineering, or data science.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex software or machine learning applications at enterprise scale.
  • 1+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data to support machine learning workflows.
  • 1+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, or model training and deployment pipelines.
  • Ability to code and develop scalable solutions from scratch using languages such as Python or TypeScript.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, problem-solve creatively, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support project teams to scale, monitor, and operate AI/ML platforms.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics or equivalent experience with 3+ years of experience in a professional technical work environment.
  • Experience with full-stack application development or deploying ML models.
  • Experience with Palantir tools such as Foundry.
  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, or pipeline data science tools such as Alteryx.
  • Experience working on real-time data, streaming applications, or AI model deployment.
  • Experience with data warehousing using AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake.
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices.
  • Ability to rapidly master new AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and tools.
  • Ability to be technically curious and eager to learn.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms and techniques.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with data modeling and database design.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).

This position offers a flexible schedule, with options including remote, hybrid, or onsite work arrangements.
