AHS Colorguard Instructor
About the role
The AHS Colorguard Instructor is responsible for teaching and developing the marching band's color guard program. Duties include instructing students in flag, rifle, dance, and movement techniques, designing and teaching choreography, rehearsing performances, promoting proper technique and safety, and coordinating routines with the band director for the marching band's half-time show.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Experience teaching color guard and/or marching band
- Ability to work with students of varying skill levels
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of proper technique and safety for color guard and marching band
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
- Experience with choreography and performance coordination
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Typical rehearsals: mornings before school 7:00am-7:45am, then full group marching band from 7:55-8:50am during the school day. Performances: 2-3 football games, 1-2 parades, some potential performances during the school day as requested all during the fall semester. Minimal performances during the spring including the Canon City Blossom Festival Parade in May.
