Inpatient and Outpatient Role
Serving AdventHealth Orlando, this role includes:
- Performs history and physical examinations of gyn surgical oncology patients in the inpatient setting.
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory and X-ray.
- Makes appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists based on patient’s course of treatment.
- Performs first assistant duties in the operating room.
- Writes postoperative orders in the recovery room and performs postoperative procedures.
- Collaborates with the physician supervisor and staff to provide consistent care and support.
- Assists in preparing patients for surgery.
- May see patients in the outpatient setting as needed.
Schedule Details
Monday – Friday, 3 days in surgery; 2 days in clinic.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong medical decision-making skills.
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant (PA-C) studies.
- First assist experience (preferred).
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
- Current, valid Florida PA license.
- NCCPA (or equivalent) certification.
- BLS, ACLS certification.
- ONS certification preferred.
