Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ACLS and PALS courses for healthcare providers, adhering to the latest AHA guidelines and protocols.
- Organize and review training materials, including textbooks, case studies, and audiovisual presentations, to ensure they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Assess participants' knowledge and skills through written exams, practical evaluations, and simulations to ensure they meet competency standards.
- Lead scenario-based training and practical sessions to improve participants' proficiency in critical life-saving techniques such as CPR, defibrillation, airway management, and pharmacology.
- Offer constructive feedback to participants on their performance, emphasizing areas for improvement and reinforcing best practices.
- Maintain certifications in ACLS and PALS, staying current with ongoing professional development as required by the AHA or equivalent certification body.
- Ensure a positive and professional learning environment, encouraging active participation and fostering a culture of safety and respect.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of course attendance, assessments, and certifications, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to course participants regarding course content, certifications, and future training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid AHA ACLS and PALS Instructor certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an emergency, critical care, or pediatric care setting.
- Strong knowledge of ACLS and PALS guidelines and protocols.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Must be comfortable working with adult and pediatric patients in simulated emergency scenarios.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification (or ability to obtain within [insert time frame]).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching ACLS and/or PALS courses in a healthcare setting.
- Certification in other life support courses (e.g., NRP, BLS).
- Experience in simulation-based training.
- Master's degree in nursing, emergency medical services, or related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate CPR and other life-saving techniques.
- Ability to stand, walk, and participate in physical activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry training equipment as required.
Work Environment
- The role will primarily be conducted in classroom and simulation settings, which may include hospitals, medical centers, or other training facilities.
- Occasional travel may be required to other locations for courses or workshops.
