Agronomy operations - Graymont Cooperative - Graymont, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the liquid and dry loading facility efficiently and safely
• Accurately mix, load, and handle herbicides, pesticides, and liquid & Dry fertilizers according to labels, company procedures, and regulations
• Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements (EPA, OSHA, state regulations)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment in the shop, warehouse, and surrounding areas
• Manage and track warehouse inventory, including receiving, storing, rotating, and documenting products
• Assist with inventory counts and reporting as required
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, pumps, hoses, and facilities
• Identify equipment issues and report major repairs to management
• Assist other agronomy team members during peak seasons as needed
• Promote teamwork, positive communication, and a cooperative-first attitude

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience in agronomy, chemical handling, or agricultural operations is preferred but not required
• Ability to safely handle chemicals and fertilizers
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills
• Willingness to obtain and maintain applicable certifications/licenses (e.g., pesticide applicator, CDL license)

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak agronomy seasons
